Title

A Study of Online Teaching and Learning Impact in Pandemic Period among Arunachal State Teachers-Students

Abstract

ABSTRACT Covid-19 Pandemic has brought about changes to the education systems that impact teachers and students in multiple ways. An online Google form questionnaire was administered to the respondents from the North Eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh and Southern state of Tamil Nadu. This article discusses the difficulties faced by teachers and students under the five frameworks: perception on online classes, home environment setting, Institutional support, technical difficulties and teacher student bonding. In a developing country like India where traditional pedagogy is most prevalent but due to sudden transition to emergency remote learning which is new to Indian education system many teachers and students suffered. As many of the senior teachers (more than 50+ years) are accustomed to the use of blackboards and chalks, they may not be familiar with the electronic devices and online educational platforms and thus may not be able to impart and guide the students as they could in a face-to-face classroom environment. When the teachers fail in fulfilling their duties of providing quality education to the students, this shall ultimately affect the nation’s economics as well as other sectors directly and indirectly in a long run.
