Narratives of Silence: Understanding Trauma and Sexual Abuse in Khaled Hosseini's The Kite Runner

Abstract

This research paper ventures into the depths of Khaled Hosseini's literary masterpiece, The Kite Runner, to explore the profound themes of trauma and sexual abuse experienced by innocent children. Employing a meticulous analysis of the narrative and its characters, this study seeks to illuminate the intricate psychological and emotional consequences such experiences impose on survivors, while concurrently unraveling the far-reaching implications for society as a whole. Leveraging the insightful lens of Trauma theory, the paper delves into the harrowing ordeals endured by Amir, Hassan, and Sohrab, unraveling the profound ramifications on their identities, relationships, and self-perception.
