This research paper delves into the emergence and evolution of cyberpunk themes in Indian English literature, offering a comprehensive analysis of the intricate relationship between technology, society, and culture within the rapidly digitizing landscape of India. While cyberpunk has traditionally been associated with Western narratives, this paper illuminates the recent appropriation of the cyberpunk aesthetic by Indian authors, who employ it to convey their unique experiences and apprehensions in an increasingly globalized and technologically driven world. Through a meticulous examination of key cyberpunk works in Indian English literature, this study aims to decipher the cultural and social implications embedded within these narratives, while also shedding light on the distinct Indian elements inherent in the genre. By academically scrutinizing the cyberpunk themes in Indian English literature, this research paper contributes to a broader understanding of the genre's global relevance and enriches the discourse surrounding contemporary Indian literature.
