In recent years, wireless systems based on the Internet of Things (IoT) have shown significant growth in a variety of industries. The IoT is a network that allows hardware objects, devices, sensors, and other entities to interact with one another without the need of any human intervention. The Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a crucial element of the IoT, and it has evolved into a variety of real-time applications. IoT-WSN today has a wide variety of critical and non-critical applications that touch almost practically every aspect of our daily lives. WSN nodes are generally small devices that run on batteries. As a result, Energy-efficient (EE) Data aggregation (DA) solutions are required that can extend the life time of the network. In IoT-WSN systems, many techniques and algorithms for EE-DA were described. This paper aims at the literature with an emphasis on EE-DA aspects of wireless networking
