It is believed that the relationship between India and Japan started in 16th century when the Buddhism introduced to Japan. Japanese culture has been greatly influenced by Indian culture via Buddhism, which is the reason for the Japanese people's close with India since past time period. Indians in Japan consist of migrants from India to Japan and their descendants. There were 46,262 Indian nationals residing in Japan as of June 2023. Indian workers in Japan are mostly employed in the information technology sector. India and Japan share a strong relationship based on cultural Economic and strategic ties also the diplomatic relation established between two countries in 28th April 1952 after signed the peace treaty. It marked beginning of diplomatic relations and since then India and Japan have been cooperating in areas like technology, trade, defense, cultural and security. Also, Japan started to provide aid and loans to the India the first yen loan aid extended by Japanese government in 1958. ‘Special strategies and global partnerships’ are a big example for the Japan and India relationship goals.
