With the continuous and exponential increase in data size, cloud computing (CC) has received a proliferating attention due to its storage service. Along with a wide range of benefits offered by CC, it suffers from various security concerns such as data confidentiality, integrity, and diminished storage capacity etc. Hence, this paper proposes a data integrity verification scheme which supports data deduplication on encrypted data to mitigate adverse effects of these security concerns. It uses the techniques of proxy re-encryption (PRE) and one-way hashing to solve the issues of ownership verification and data integrity. Data deduplication eliminates the need to store duplicate copies of repeating data while preserving the confidentiality of sensitive data. Extensive experimental and simulation results exhibit that the proposed method is efficient and incurs minimal computational and communication overhead.
