Abstract

The Introduction of genetically modified seeds into the environment has been increasingly controversial as illustrated by the ongoing debates concerning the commercialisation of Btcotton in an increasing number of states in India over the past few years in other countries too in particular in the European region the development of agricultural genetic engineering and the commercialisation of transgenic food products has been met with significant resistance .
