Abstract Micro insurance products offer coverage to low income households or to the individuals who possesses minimal savings. It is customized specifically for underrated assets and requital for extremity. This paper focuses on the intention that is entailed to help the impoverished. Analysis was conducted with brief questionnaire wherein 150 respondents out of the population from Kodagu district was considered to conduct the survey under simple random method. This survey provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of the micro insurance policy in Kodagu district and the obstacles encountered in reaching out to the vulnerable population. This paper further presents recommendations on enhancing strategies to foster public consciousness regarding the policy.
