Film is a commodity, the producer invests money to make a profit, film is a unique commodity unlike other products it will not give any physical product for the money a consumer pays as the ticket fair. The film gives mental satisfaction or dissatisfaction to the audience by engaging with the film. The whole experience counts on the cognitive nature of the filmmaker and the audience. The director uses audio-visual to make the film vis-à-vis the audience look at the audio-visual content to get the entertainment. The point here is whether the encoder and the decoder can stand at the same wavelength in the dialectical activity of a single film. If that happens the film will perform well in the Box office and will give profit to the producer.
