Title

Exploring Blockchain Technology for Aircraft Maintenance: Enhancing Efficiency, Security, and Traceability

Abstract

Air transportation involves using airplanes to move passengers or cargo between airports. Aircraft are critical to this process and must be maintained carefully to ensure passenger safety. Given the many essential components of an aircraft, a reliable system for regular maintenance and replacements is necessary. Blockchain technology, known for its transparency and security, offers an excellent solution. Its peer-to-peer validation ensures transparency, while hash functions enhance transaction security. This research explores how blockchain can be used in the MRO (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) processes for aircraft components. MRO companies, following schedules set by aircraft manufacturers, will record all activities on the blockchain network. This allows passengers and airlines to get real-time information about the aircraft's condition. The paper also includes a blockchain-based data simulation using the Ganache Framework, demonstrating transaction transparency in aircraft MRO activities.
