Title

SECURING DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS: CHALLENGES AND INNOVATIONS IN NETWORK DEFENSE

Abstract

Protecting distributed systems is now a top concern in a world where multiple computing platforms are connected. These systems that support today's cloud computing services, IoT, and others are exposed to numerous issues when it comes to security on decentralized and constantly evolving networks. Some traditional network defense mechanisms need to be revised for this purpose and show limitations regarding scalability, heterogeneity, and the dynamic nature of computer threats. These questions concern trust management, data integrity, and protection against modern and complex attacks, including Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) and zero-day attacks. It also looks into new concepts in network protection, such as AI, blockchain technology, and the zero-trust model that has been known to improve security in the network. This effort deconstructs real-world success stories and assesses new developments to inform prescriptive approaches to protecting distributed systems. The findings were intended to systematically fill the gap between conventional security systems and new threats while providing guideposts for readers who are conducting research or are involved in this line of work and want to enhance secure computing in distributed structures. The future trend discusses the developmental and readiness scenarios. It reveals the rationale for making changes more ideal and swift in effectively addressing advanced and evolving cyber threats.
