Title

COMPARATIVE STUDY OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING APPROACH AND CONSTRUCTIVIST APPROACHES FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS IN KOLKATA: A PILOT STUDY

Abstract

This pilot study aims to compare the efficacy of two prominent educational approaches, the Cooperative Learning Approach and the Constructivist Approach, for enhancing academic performance, student engagement, and social interaction among secondary school students in Kolkata. Both teaching methodologies have distinct features, with cooperative learning focusing on collaborative tasks and constructivism emphasizing the role of individual learners in constructing knowledge. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis, this study examines the impact of these pedagogies on students' learning outcomes, engagement, and social skills development. The findings aim to provide insights into how these approaches can be implemented to improve educational practices in secondary schools in Kolkata.
