Abstract Kamala Das, a pioneering voice in Indian English poetry, is widely celebrated for her unabashed portrayal of female experiences. Her works challenge patriarchal norms and explore themes of love, desire, identity, and womanhood. While her poetry has been extensively analyzed through second-wave feminist perspectives, this paper places her oeuvre within the context of third-wave feminism. Emerging in the 1990s, third-wave feminism champions diversity, intersectionality, and the fluidity of gender roles. This study examines how Kamala Das’s poetry resonates with third-wave feminist ideals by advocating for individuality and breaking traditional gender stereotypes.
