Portulaca oleracea is common plant distributed throughout globe. It is used in the traditional system of medicine in many countries like India, Nigeria, Palestine, China, Iran etc. It has numerous nutritional and medicinal and therapeutic benefit to human because it is a rich source of vitamins, flavonoids, alkaloids, polysaccharides, omega-3 fatty acids, terpenoids, sterols, proteins and minerals etc. has been reported as per literature. The present review focuses on phytochemical study and mainly pharmacological activities like antioxidant, antidiabetic, antifertility, antimicrobial, wound healing property, neuroprotective, cardiac problem, anticancer, anti-inflammatory, activities of plant Portulaca oleracea.
