Title

Surfactant Mediated Electrochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Bi2Te3 Thin Films

Abstract

One of the major advantages of thermoelectric materials is that it can convert any kind of heat energy such as waste heat, solar energy, radiation heat directly into electricity. Other advantages include no moving parts, low maintenance and high reliability. There are various techniques can be used to synthesize Bi2Te3 thin films among these techniques electrodeposition technique is widely used. Electrodeposition has become attractive due to its advantages over the other physical and chemical deposition techniques. The semiconductor properties like n-type or p-type conductivity; band gap variation, control over stoichiometry, doping etc. can be controlled with a resemble accuracy by electrodeposition. In this work, we mainly focus on producing Bi2Te3 thin films using the electrodeposition technique and correlate the observed crystal structure, film composition and surface morphology with photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance.
