Nowadays, one of the biggest challenges facing people in the modern world is finding a place to park their car when driving through crowded cities. We are proposing an automated system that uses cameras to recognize when a parking lot is vacant. The live streaming video is analyzed in the backend using OpenCV, and the Android smartphones provide us with the location and details of the closest vacant parking space. To identify whether the parking space is vacant or not, the image is first preprocessed by turning it into grayscale. Next, image subtraction is used to find the difference between photographs taken at two distinct times. Finally, the data is updated in the database. where it was obtained and shown in the Android application. The project's goal is to create a completely automated parking system that will benefit billions of people from all walks of life. This will lessen the headache of trying to find a parking space in crowded cities.
