Phytotoxicity Of Cultural Filtrates of Two Aspergillus Isolates on Some Economically Important Crop Plants

Abstract
Abstract- The phytotoxic effect of cell free culture filtrates (CFCF) of two Aspergillus isolates on gram, mung, red lentil and wheat were evaluated. Two media were used for phytotoxin production.Czapek- Dox media supplemented with casein was observed to be more phytotoxic in comparison to Czapek- Dox media. CFCF of both Aspergillus isolates exhibited maximum phytotoxicity against green gram. Phytotoxicity was tested by cut shoot bioassay. On TLC plate two prominent toxin spotswere observed when Czapek- Doxsupplemented with casein media was used for phytotoxin production while only one toxin spot was prominently observed in Czapek- Dox media.
