Renewable energy projects, particularly wind energy, play a crucial role in meeting India's electricity demand and contributing to clean energy generation. This study assesses the economic competitiveness of a 10 MW wind energy project in Karnataka, India. Drawing on a review of literature encompassing various renewable energy projects worldwide, including geothermal, solar, and wind energy, the research utilizes a combination of primary and secondary data collection methods. Analysis is conducted using the Levelized Cost of Electricity (LCOE) tool to evaluate the project's financial viability over its lifespan. Results indicate opportunities for cost optimization, maximizing energy production, and careful consideration of financing options to enhance the project's overall economic viability. The study underscores the importance of the LCOE as a metric for assessing long-term economic competitiveness and recommends holistic decision-making considering policy support, market dynamics, and environmental benefits for sustainable energy development.
