Abstract
In India the first legislation in Indian copyrights act was passed in the year 1914 which was an extract of United Kingdom copy right act 1911. During the five decades many innovations took place in the means of communications like Broadcasting, photography, Television, have paved the paths to Indian economy. Hence there is a dire need for the most powerful law which protects the rights of the Copy right owners or the Original creators. So, the new act was enacted by the parliament of India basing on Berne Convection and Universal copy right Declaration. This act is called the copy right act 1957, which was again amended in 1999.
