In today's appearance-conscious culture, acne vulgaris stands as a prevalent skin disorder affecting individuals of all ages, characterized by chronic inflammation of pilosebaceous units. Its multifactorial nature, including increased sebum production, follicular hyperkeratinisation, bacterial colonization, and inflammation, underscores its complexity. Recent therapeutic advances target specific pathogenic pathways, reflecting a deeper understanding of their etiologic. Ancient medical systems like Ayurveda classify similar conditions under "Kshudra Rogas," emphasizing localized imbalances of doshas and Dushyas. Mukhadushika, akin to acne, illustrates Ayurveda's holistic approach to skincare. Blackheads, papules, pustules, and cysts mark its defining features, impacting both appearance and demeanor. Heightened awareness of skincare and dietary habits underscores the community's recognition of this issue. Effective management requires a comprehensive approach integrating medical treatments, lifestyle adjustments, and holistic skincare practices.
