Kavita kane- a new woman writer who carved her own style of writing in literature. The concept that she has chosen are from our Puranas, epics and Ithihasas. The way she has built up the story makes her reader to re- think or to re-analyze the story from different perspective instead of the approach that the ancients made us to think. This article starts with the history of feminism, next, women’s writing in three phases as discussed by Elanshow Walter and then applies Elanshow Walter’s points with Kavitakane’s novel Sita’s Sister. The article discusses Kavitakane’s approach in understanding the grand narratives and how she tried to bring the unsung women into light with her method of narration, diction and the free flow of dialogues.
