Introduction: Srotasa is one of the unique concepts of Ayurveda. Srotasa is Inner Transport System of the body which provide platform for activities of other important factors like Tridosha and Saptadhatu. Srotasa word means To Ooze and To Transport. Acharya Charaka said that “Srotasamev Samudayam Purushamichanti” it means living body is comprised of Innumerable Channels which are designed as inner transport system for divergent function. Dhatu does Dharana Karma of the body. Srotasa is responsible for transformation of Dhatu and accountable for motion of all types of Dhatu. For every substance get transformed in body couldn’t been generated or declined without Srotasa. For these type of substance, individual Srotasa can be thought. Aim & Objectives: To understand the conceptual & applied aspect of Srotasa. Material & Methods: All the popular classical texts of Ayurveda with available commentaries, published research papers and other sources have been compiled and analyzed. Result & Discussion: Acharya Charaka described all types of Srotasa as path of movement for Vata, Pitta & Shleshma throughout the body; and that Vata, Pitta and Shleshma aggravating in particular site of Srotasa like Rasavaha, Raktavaha etc. develop various types of Vyadhi. In Swastha Creation, Transformation, Transportation and Elimination of Waste are basic functions of body & it will be fulfilled by various Srotasa. In Aatura Acharya have given various examples related to role of Srotasa in pathogenesis and treatment of Vyadhi like Prameha, Jwara, Karshya, Sthoulya etc. Conclusion: There is a need to study fundamental and applied aspect of Srotasa in order to know physiology and pathophysiology of the human body in depth.
