Title

THE ASSESSMENT OF BALA (STRENGTH) IN RELATION WITH PRAKRITI (TEMPERAMENT)

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Prakriti (Temperament), which is unique to each person, is nothing more than the expression of their own constitution. Physical characteristics like strength, appearance, and body physiology are attributed to Prakriti (Temperament). In contemporary science, a person's expression in relation to their morphology, physiology, behavior, and ecology is referred to as their personality. Deha Prakriti (Body Temperament) and Deha Bala (Body Strength) have a relationship that Acharyas have explained. An individual with a Bala (Strength) need Tridosha regarded as Shreshta (best) in Ayurveda, whereas an individual with a Kapha Prakriti (Temperament) has Uttam Bala (good strength), a Pitta Prakriti (Temperament) person has Madhyam Bala (moderate strength), and a Vata Prakriti (Temperament) person has Alpa Bala (poor strength). It suggests that Deha Prakriti (Body Temperament) influences Deha Bala (Body Strength) variations. All that Bala (Strength) is is the Sharira's base. Similar to how a structure cannot be secure without a foundation, neither can a person be stable or live a long life without Bala (Strength). A person with a normal level of Deha Bala (Body Strength) will be able to execute demanding tasks with good endurance and control over the vitiation of the Doshas. In contemporary science, the Deha Bala (Body Strength) is regarded as power, vitality, or energy. Deha Bala (Body Strength) should be measured by Vyayamashakti, according to Ayurveda. METHOD: Prakriti (Temperament) assessment of volunteers was done by “CCRAS PRAKRITI (TEMPERAMENT) ASSESSMENT TOOL”.The physical examination of volunteers was done to know their health status. Thereafter Harvard step test, Treadmill running and walking & BMI was done to know their Sharirk Bala (Strength). RESULT: The Bala (Strength) assessed through the TMT (Running and walking) maximum individuals were seen having Madhyama Bala (Moderate Strength). Other than Pitta-Kapha Prakriti (Temperament), Bala (Strength) assessed was average in Kapha-Vata and Pitta-Vata Prakriti (Temperament). The Bala (Strength) assessed through the Harvard Step Testm Maximum individuals were seen having Madhyama Bala (Moderate Strength). Other than Pitta-Kapha Prakriti (Temperament), Bala (Strength) assessed was average in Kapha-Vata and Pitta-Vata Prakriti (Temperament). Bala (Strength) assessed through the formulated questionnaire stats that maximum Madhyama Bala (Moderate Strength) individuals were found. The Bala (Strength) was more in Dwandaja Prakriti (Temperament) individuals which it was found more in Pitta Kapha individuals.
