Title

Fluid Inclusions Study Of Carbonate-Rich Dyke From Chhaktala, Alirajpur Tehsil, Jhabua District, Madhya Pradesh, India

Abstract

Several dyke-like bodies chiefly composed of quartz and carbonates are known to occur along the Narmada fault zone. These dykes were referred to as “calcareosiliceous” dykes. They exhibit wide variation in color, composition and texture. These are chiefly composed of calcite, quartz, chalcedony, opal, magnetite, limonite and angular fragments of chert. Several fragments of early formed rocks including granite, granitic gneisses, basalt, basaltic andesite, etc. occur within the dykes. These are usually bounded by fault zones marked by presence of fault breccias, fault gauge, mylonitization, slicken sides, chertification and ferruginization. Present study is based on the microthermometric measurement of fluid inclusions in one of the dykes near Chhaktala area. The study has shown that the low temperature-low salinity fluids were trapped at around 360° to 365°C temperature during crystallization of this rock.
