India, a country marked by its diversity and vast population, has seen significant strides in advancing reproductive rights. With policies aimed at promoting family planning, access to contraceptives and maternal health services, India has made notable progress in reducing maternal mortality rates and improving access to reproductive healthcare, particularly for marginalized communities. However, challenges persist, including socio-cultural barriers, gender inequality and disparities in access across regions. Conversely, the United States of America grapples with a complex landscape of reproductive rights marked by legal battles, political polarization, and shifting policies. While Roe v. Wade legalized abortion nationwide in 1973, reproductive rights remain highly contested, with ongoing debates surrounding abortion access, contraceptive coverage, and comprehensive sex education. State-level regulations and recent legislative efforts have led to a patchwork of policies, resulting in disparities in access and healthcare outcomes among different populations.
