Abstract: This paper aims at introducing the magnum opus of the well known Telugu poet ,Play Wright,Writer’s “Veyipadagalu’ and the confrontation of tradition and modernity with the gradual decline of the old order. Subbannapeta, an imagery village is the background and the setting of the novel. All the significant characters of the novel are introduced and analysed . In this massive novel ‘Veyipadagalu’ ,Sri Viswanatha catches with consummate mastering the passing of a entire cultural and cultural context as a result of its being sucked in by the gale storm of the industralisation and urbanization. No thematic analysis can however do justice to the initiation and complete texture of the novel which remains a panoramic presentation of Telugus life and thought.
