Providing adequate housing for economically weaker sections (EWS) of society presents a multifaceted challenge that requires careful consideration of various factors, including site suitability, resource availability, and community needs. This abstract explores the importance of integrating surveying techniques into the design process of EWS housing projects to ensure the creation of sustainable and resilient living environments. By accurately assessing land topography, soil conditions, and infrastructure requirements, surveying facilitates informed decision-making and optimal resource utilization. However, the implementation of surveying in EWS housing design is not without its limitations, including resource constraints, technical challenges, and regulatory hurdles. Despite these challenges, the aim, need, and limitations of surveying in EWS housing design underscore its significance in addressing the housing needs of vulnerable populations. Through effective collaboration, community engagement, and leveraging technological advancements, surveying can play a vital role in creating inclusive and sustainable housing solutions for economically disadvantaged communities. This abstract highlights the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach that integrates surveying as a fundamental tool in the design and implementation of EWS housing projects, ultimately contributing to the overarching goal of sustainable development and social equity.
