Title

SEISMIC ANALYSIS OF G+13 RCC SYMMETRIC BUILDING WITH G-3 BASEMENT USING STAAD.PRO.

Abstract

This study investigates the seismic analysis of a high-rise building system in Patna, a city located in seismic zone iv. The building is a 13-story RCC symmetric structure with a ground floor and three basements. STAAD.Pro v8i was used, applying Indian standard provisions for different seismic zones in India. A severe earthquake is one of the most terrifying and damaging occurrences in nature, with devastating consequences. Preventing an earthquake from happening is extremely difficult, but damage to buildings can be minimized with proper design and detailing. Therefore, conducting seismic analysis and design for structures to prevent collapse is required. Creating a building with the goal of minimizing earthquake damage can be costly and inefficient, as earthquakes are unpredictable and rare events that may not even happen during the building's lifetime. This study focuses on comprehending the outcomes of STAAD.Pro v8i software when subjected to gravity loads specified in IS 456:2000. The results must meet the overall criteria to prevent failure post-analysis and enhance accuracy according to IS code 1893:2016.
