Abstract
The path to women empowerment and gender equality in India is full of struggle, resilience and hope. Although India has made notable achievements in addressing gender inequality, the journey to end India's deeply entrenched patriarchal mindset and achieve women empowerment and gender equality remains complex. This paper highlights the multidimensional aspects of women empowerment and gender equality in India, including the women empowerment programs in India, the progress made so far, the barriers that still exist and the necessary steps taken by the Government of India to achieve gender equality.
