Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) is the theory that an adult or older person sexually abuses a child. Despite the approval of numerous international legal treaties and growing national legal and social concern for the appalling CSA problem, time has seen an exorbitant statistical increase in CSA throughout the world. The research examines the legal definition of child sexual abuse and the laws and policies that have been enacted to protect children from such abuse. The study also analyzes the effectiveness of the legal framework and identifies the gaps and challenges that need to be addressed.The researcher has followed the descriptive type of analysis, convenience and stratified random sampling method to get data , and analysis with non parametric tests. The sample size was about 227. The result was that many respondents accepted that there is an increase in the number of cases being reported and the same is due to the awareness which was able to be created through various training and awareness programs along with NGOs and Friends of the Police. The findings of the study indicate that while there are several laws and policies in place to protect children from sexual abuse, the implementation and enforcement of these laws are inadequate. The study recommends the need for a more victim-centric approach in the legal framework, increased awareness and sensitization of stakeholders, and a coordinated response from all sectors to prevent and respond to child sexual abuse.
