The Budhi Gandak River is one of the most important rivers of East Champaran District in Bihar, which originates in the western mountain of Someshwar range of the lower Himalayas. This Budhi Gandak river flows from Chautarwa Chaur (Bhikhna Thori) Near Bisambharpur in the district of West Champaran. The budhi gandak river passes through east and west Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Samastipur, Begusarai, Khagaria district and lastly it merges into Ganga in Khagaria district. During the investigation researcher tried to find out Physicochemical characteristics of water across the one year. Two sampling sites were selected located at the bank of Budhi Gandak River at Mehsi and Lalmetia (Motihari), East Champaran, Bihar. In this study, various analytical techniques were used to study the water quality parameters like pH, EC, DO, FCD, Chloride, Calcium, Magnesium and Total Hardness. Findings of present investigation reflect that most of the water quality parameters are in the acceptable limits in accordance with WHO standards.
