Abstract: The world’s oceans are a vital component of our planet’s ecosystem. The health and sustainability of our oceans is threatened by a number of anthropogenic activities. Ocean plays a critical role in regulating the Earth’s climate, absorbing carbon dioxide and heat from the atmosphere. They also provide a significant source of food and livelihoods for millions of people around the world. In response to these threats, governments and international organizatons have implemented a variety of policies and initiatives aimed at promoting ocean sustainability and conservation.
