Title

Underground Power Cable Fault Detection and Transformer Protection System

Abstract

The advancement of urban infrastructure has increased the deployment of underground electrical cables, which, while aesthetically and safety-enhanced, pose significant challenges in fault detection and repair. To address this, an Arduino-based microcontroller system has been developed to accurately locate faults in underground cables. Utilizing Ohm's law, the system measures current variations to pinpoint fault locations. Key components include a power supply, cable simulation, control, tripping, and display units. This system not only detects faults but also indicates their exact distance, facilitating quick repairs and reducing downtime. This innovation offers a cost-effective, efficient solution for maintaining the reliability of underground electrical networks.
