In the backdrop of poor condition of migratory industrial labourers employed in the different parts of country, Delhi’s Narela emerges as a region where the problem of “bad organization of work” and “low wages” persisted from a long period of time. The migratory labourers from Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar with nearly zero opportunity cost forced to work in plastic and footwear industries of Narela . In this research article, our aim is to assess the condition of migratory laborer, by focusing on the issue of the negligence of labour safety measures by factory owners and persistent low wages. Frequent incidents of fire, low subsistence level in region, a continuous migration towards Delhi and role of theekedar came out as factors behind persistent problem of “bad organization of work” and “low wages”.
