Herbal antithrombotic drugs, rooted in centuries-old medicinal traditions, present an intriguing alternative to synthetic anticoagulants in contemporary healthcare. This review explores the efficacy, safety and potential impact of herbal remedies in managing thrombotic disorders. Herbal antithrombotics are purported to inhibit clot formation and enhance blood circulation with fewer side effects compared to conventional therapies. However, challenges such as standardization, quality control and herb-drug interactions necessitate careful consideration. Regulatory frameworks and clinical evidence supporting their use are also discussed. Looking forward, future research directions emphasize the need for robust clinical trials, mechanistic studies, and improved regulatory oversight to integrate these natural remedies effectively into clinical practice. This paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of herbal antithrombotics, bridging ancient wisdom with modern healthcare advancements.
