Title

BEHAVIOUR OF CONCRETE BY USING FLY ASH AND LIME SLUDGE AS PARTIAL REPLACEMENT OF CEMENT

Abstract

This research outlines a comprehensive plan for the investigation of the partial replacement of traditional cement with a combination of fly ash and lime sludge in concrete mixes. The study aims to assess the viability and potential benefits of incorporating these industrial byproducts as sustainable alternatives, contributing to the growing field of eco-friendly construction materials. The research methodology involves an extensive literature review to understand the properties of fly ash and lime sludge and their potential impact on concrete performance. Material characterization tests will be conducted to determine the physical and chemical properties of the chosen industrial byproducts, providing a foundation for subsequent mixed design. Concrete mix designs will be developed with varying proportions of fly ash and lime sludge as partial replacements for cement. The planned experiments include tests for compressive strength, tensile strength, and flexural strength etc. Additionally, workability and setting time experiments will be carried out to ensure the modified concrete meets construction standards. An economic and environmental analysis is planned to evaluate potential cost savings and assess the environmental footprint of innovative concrete mixtures compared to traditional counterparts.
