Nowadays, the internet is used to start and end the day. Everything changes in this busy world, including the payment system. The use of the internet in the banking industry is now unavoidable, so it is important to create protection to safeguard critical information. The study focuses on the Annual Report that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued in 2023 detailing the frauds that occurred in the banking system, and it discusses the new tactics that online criminals are using to collect data. The study employed secondary data to examine the paper's conclusion. Though the amount of frauds has decreased in 2023 when compared to 2020, the number of frauds and the total number of cybercrimes involving financial gain have increased, so it is now necessary for the government to take action while promoting digital banking in order to combat the data threats and money thefts
