Title

TEACHERS’ TECHNOLOGICAL PEDAGOGICAL CONTENT KNOWLEDGE AND STUDENTS’ ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT IN ARALING PANLIPUNAN

Abstract

Technology has become an essential part of students' lives, providing them with a wider range of educational resources and opportunities. The study was conducted to determine the teachers’ level of TPACK considering the technological knowledge, content knowledge, pedagogical knowledge, pedagogical content knowledge, technological content knowledge, technological pedagogical knowledge, technological pedagogical content knowledge. It also determined the students’ academic achievement in Araling Panlipunan, and the relationship between teachers' TPACK and learners' academic achievement. The study surveyed one hundred nineteen (119) Araling Panlipunan teachers from junior high schools within the Division of Malaybalay City for the School Year 2023-2024. The study utilized descriptive-correlational research and a patterned and modified questionnaire to gather data. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data, with mean and standard deviation being used to assess the teachers' level of knowledge. Frequency count and percentage were used to evaluate students' academic achievement in Araling Panlipunan. Additionally, the Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was utilized to analyze the significant relationship between the teachers' level of knowledge in TPACK and students' academic achievement. Based on the study's findings, it was concluded that the teachers had positive results in their technological, pedagogical, content, pedagogical content, technological content, technological pedagogical, and technological pedagogical and content knowledge. Additionally, the students' academic achievement in Araling Panlipunan resulted in satisfactory to outstanding outcomes. Lastly, there was a positive and significant correlation between the TPACK components and the students' academic achievement in Araling Panlipunan. Therefore, continuous professional development is crucial for teachers when integrating technology into their teaching. Interactive and exciting learning settings can foster academic achievement and equip students to thrive in the digital era.
