This research explores the intricate relationship between natural resource management and rural development transformation in Bahraich District, Uttar Pradesh. The study examines the impact of major resources, including livestock, forest cover, water resources, and wildlife, on the socio-economic landscape of the rural areas of the district. Livestock farming, a critical component of the rural economy, contributes significantly to household incomes and agricultural productivity through dairy and meat production. The district's forest cover, notably the Katarniya Ghat Wildlife Sanctuary, plays a pivotal role in conserving biodiversity and promoting eco-tourism, thereby generating employment opportunities and supporting local livelihoods. Water resources, primarily the Ghaghara and Saryu rivers, are essential for irrigation, drinking water supply, and fisheries, enhancing agricultural yields and ensuring food security. The presence of diverse wildlife attracts tourism, which in turn stimulates economic activities and infrastructure development. This analysis highlights how sustainable management of these natural resources can drive rural development, improve living standards, and foster economic growth in Bahraich District. The findings underscore the importance of integrating resource management strategies with rural development policies to achieve holistic and sustainable progress.
