Title

A Study of Customer’s Perception of Cybercrimes in Online Banking and Their Satisfaction with Banks’ Security Measures

Abstract

The rapid increase in the digital transactions have immensely benefited the customers in terms of ease of transaction, greater speed and saving of time. One adverse impact of this is the rise in the cybercrimes in online banking. Cybercrime results in losses to the bank, the customers and the economy. The present research has been conducted to find out the customer perception of the cybercrimes and the online banking services. The research is based on a sample of 50 customers. The research is a descriptive research. It is based on the primary as well as the secondary data. The findings of the research revealed that majority of the customers have internet connectivity and hence, they undertake online banking transactions. Majority of the customers have not experienced the problem of cybercrime but they have greater apprehensions in the digital transaction and the safety measures adopted by the bank. Customer expects that the banks should provide them training and provide upto date information from time to time about the cybercrime. The overall level of satisfaction of the customer in the banking transaction is adequate or satisfactory.
