Cloud-based Earth Observation (EO) tools are used to analyse the geographical area of study. EO datasets are studied to get insights into the details of land degradation. Geospatial data analytics is the work demonstrated in this case study. This article represents a case study on land degradation assessment in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India using remote sensing and open-source geospatial tools. The study is concluded by identifying the details of land degradation or even desertification. Vegetation degradation details on interleaved durations with water erosion data are identified. Urbanization and industrialization are found as the reasons for land degradation. Countermeasures in line with SDG are found to be applied to fix the problem by enriching the land used for agriculture and river valley projects.
