Title

Optimizing Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems: A MATLAB-Based Simulation and Performance Enhancement Approach

Abstract

This project investigates the integration of photovoltaic (PV) panels into grid-connected systems, with the dual aim of deepening understanding and optimizing performance. Emphasizing the role of PV-based microgrids, it draws on extensive literature to explore the design and grid integration of PV panels. The project focuses on decentralized control methods and the benefits of solar energy, aligning with broader objectives of promoting sustainable, decentralized energy solutions and addressing challenges like carbon emission reduction and grid resilience enhancement. Using MATLAB simulations, the study models PV panel behavior under various conditions, such as solar irradiance, temperature changes, and load variations. This simulation-based approach enables a detailed assessment of performance metrics, including output power, efficiency, and grid interaction. Additionally, the project delves into maximum power point tracking (MPPT) techniques to enhance energy harvesting efficiency. By analyzing various MPPT algorithms, the research aims to identify strategies for improving the overall performance of grid-connected PV systems. The findings offer critical insights into the behavior of PV panels within grid-connected systems and the effectiveness of MPPT techniques, contributing to the ongoing advancement of renewable energy grid integration and supporting the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy future.
