Temperature Requirements for Winter Crops is an investigation into the influence of thermal dynamics on cultivating key winter vegetable crops in a climatically diverse region. This study examines how temperature thresholds and other climatic factors affect the growth, germination, and yield of chickpeas, lentils, broad beans, potatoes, and onions. It addresses two primary questions: How does sunlight influence crop growth variations? And do temperature requirements vary across different growth stages? Using a climatic-based cropping method, the analysis identifies optimal thermal ranges and reveals that temperature is the most critical factor impacting productivity. The research demonstrates that precise thermal management can significantly enhance crop performance and yield. Findings provide practical recommendations for improving agricultural practices and food security in Dohuk Governorate.
