ABSTRACT: A variety of physical and chemical factors influence the quality of drinking water and each has an impact on how safe and suitable the water is to drink. The Higher value of TDS, Hardness, Conductivity, Salinity and Turbidity indicates the poor quality of ground water which attracts attention of local and state government for improving the living standards of these rural communities and bring awareness for using safe potable water. This study examines some critical physical and chemical parameters of ground water in different areas of Tehsil Mohammadabad Gohna District Mau U.P. The pH of all studies areas were greater than 7 that means water is alkaline which increase corrosion rates and effect flavor. The water quality was slightly changed near Tamsa River in Mohammadabad Gohna due to sewage and waste material. We hope this research will help to Har Ghar Jal and Jal Jeevan Mission programmed by Ministry of Jal Shakti/Department of drinking water & sanitation to improve quality and provide safe and adequate drinking water till 2024 in all rural as well as urban areas of India.
