Title

To Find a Physical functional disability based on ICF framework for Indian Stroke patients.

Abstract

Abstract : The world health organization (WHO) defines stroke is: “Rapidly developing clinical signs of focal (or global) disorder of cerebral functions, with symptoms lasting 24 hours or longer or leading to death, with no apparent cause other than vascular origin” . Impaired functions is a major problem in stroke, according to American stroke association 96% stroke patients facing functional problem in daily life.A clinical tool used to assess the severity of a stroke in patients. These tool are essential in the management of stroke, helping healthcare providers quickly determine the extent of neurological impairment and guiding decisions about treatment options, such as the administration of thrombolytic therapy. But we need to identify a cultural veriation in indian context. In study taken total 40 participants of chronic stroke patients,The participant were eligible for 1) Stroke is confirmed by physician 2)Unilateral stroke 3)Both male and female were included 4) Age above 45 years 5) Those who have more then 6 month of stroke. Total 831 questioner are based on ICF guidelines. So, result 65% patients are affected in same function that would be included.After analysis total 20 questions are most commonly affected in chronic stroke patients as well as 3 more questions are added in 2nd phase of study.Study conclude that in indian patients have different way to living life so affection and expectation are differ from other context.
