Title

EFFECT OF SURFACE TENSION ON THE INSTABILITY OF VISCOELASTIC FLUID THROUGH POROUS MEDIUM

Abstract

In this paper the effect of surface tension on the instability of two superposed viscoelastic Oldroydian fluids immersed in a uniform vertical magnetic field has been studied . Employing the normal mode technique the linearised perturbation equations have been solved and by using it a dispersion relation is derived and solved numerically. It is found that the influence of viscosity , surface tension and medium porosity have stabilizing influence on the unstable configuration.
