Women entrepreneurs play an increasingly important role in the economic development of India, yet they continue to face substantial challenges that impede their full potential. This research paper examines the status of women entrepreneurs in India, exploring the motivations that drive women to engage in entrepreneurial activities, the challenges they encounter, and the effectiveness of government initiatives designed to support them. Through an analysis of existing data and literature, the paper identifies key barriers such as limited access to finance, socio-cultural constraints, and inadequate institutional support, which significantly affect women’s entrepreneurial success. The findings highlight the need for more robust and inclusive policies to empower women entrepreneurs and promote sustainable economic growth. The paper concludes with recommendations aimed at enhancing the entrepreneurial environment for women in India, ultimately contributing to a more equitable and dynamic business landscape.
