Tourism in Dehradun district, nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India, has emerged as a significant economic driver and cultural hub. This research paper explores various facets of tourism in Dehradun, focusing on its natural beauty, cultural heritage, and economic impact. The district's diverse attractions, including its lush greenery, religious sites, and adventure sports opportunities, attract a wide range of domestic and international tourists. However, the rapid growth in tourism has brought both opportunities and challenges, such as infrastructure development, environmental conservation, and socio-cultural impacts on local communities. This paper reviews existing literature and offers insights gathered from personal observation and analysis. By examining the current state of tourism in Dehradun and analyzing prospects, this study aims to provide valuable recommendations for sustainable tourism development, ensuring the preservation of its natural and cultural assets while maximizing economic benefits for local communities.
