Abstract: The success of an organisation depends not only on the capital investment, production rate, and profits but also on the human resources that work tirelessly to earn those profits. While the holy books of all religions and all walks of life say that man needs to rest at least one day a week, for a better productive life, organisations not only must concentrate on their production rates but also on the welfare of their human resources. Stress in the workplace is an important aspect that employees face most of their work time. Stress at work can be a result of various factors in the environment. This paper attempts to identify a few of these factors and try to find and understand the intensity with which these factors affect the employees from the medical profession on his / her performance and the organisational performance as a whole.
