Title

EARLY PREDICTION OF DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS IN THE PATIENTS SUFFERING FROM METABOLIC SYNDROME BY INVESTIGATION OF SERUM BIOMARKERS

Abstract

Background: Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a leading cause of mortality and morbidity around the world. Identification of acquired or inherited risk factors for VTE has the potential to improve patient care and community health by allowing the optimal preventative treatments to be implemented in subgroups of people who are particularly at risk. There's a link between Metabolic Syndrome and thrombosis, and there's growing evidence that platelets and neutrophils play a role in VTE development. Method: The current non-interventional, experimental and observational study was conducted within Maharashtra State, India at the Apex Multi Specialist Hospital, Satana on 120 blood sample of metabolic syndrome patients from January 2024 to March 2024. The variables assessed in this study were PLR, NLR and MPV. One way ANOVA statistical test was applied using Graph pad Prism SPSS software version 10.0. Result: The levels of PLR, NLR, and MPV were significantly increased in the patients suffering from MS and DVT. Conclusion: Biomarkers like PLR, NLR, and MPV are good predictors of deep vein thrombosis. The disclosure of the above novel strong biomarkers has revealed more insight into the early analysis and treatment of VTE. They provide a significant premise to early screening of VTE, yet there are still a few issues and dearth.
